Date Night with Friends

On Saturday, Kyle had the night off so we actually got to go do something together. We went over to our friends house where we spent the night playing their wii. Kyle really enjoyed himself when he got to do all the sports. He played tennis, bowling, and he even got to box against Adam. Here are some of the pictures from our fun night playing Mario Kart and the sports game.

the boys boxing each other...they really worked up a sweat.

Gabbie was so great! She just sat over by her toys and was content to be by herself. There were a couple of times when she wanted to play with us and thats when Kyle picked her up and let her help him steer the car for Mario Kart.

Curious Girl

Gabbie has become quite the curious little girlie. If there is anything she is interested in she is dead set on getting it. One morning we were all getting ready for the day and Gabbie was eating her breakfast in our bed. We walked out of the bathroom to find that she was not content to lay still. She had rolled around and then moved towards the window so she could play with the blinds (one of her new favorite toys). There is a ledge in between the mattress and window so this is what we saw when we walked into the bedroom.

Now just some pictures we thought were so cute. She looks so pretty in blue and loves to smile so much.

We love our much she makes us laugh.

Playing in the Park

We went to Discovery Park for Family Home Evening last week. We really enjoy going to parks even though Gabbie can't do anything on her own yet. It's fun to see her fascinated with everything that is going on around her.

Here she was trying out the tire tunnel. We were trying to get her to look up at the camera so we could get a picture but she was more interested in playing with the wood chips...

Gabbie and Daddy playing with the spin thing. They were making different people and animals by turning each little section. (I have no idea what it is really called so I just made something up)

Swinging by herself for the first time...She wasn't quite sure about it at first but then she started to have a ball...

Gabbie and Mommy sliding down the slide together...

Looking up at Daddy...

A little 'Worker Bee' sitting down to take a break from all the hard work she has been doing...

And now...the Queen Bee sitting on her throne waiting to hear from her workers...

Playing on top of the monkey bars...

The one picture where Gabbie is sort of looking at the camera while sitting in the tire tunnel. (It took awhile to get a picture this close to her looking)

Eating french fries for dinner before we went inside to play on the fun playground.

Daddy and Gabbie playing with the bells to make some pretty music.

'Rapunzel, Rapunzel, Let down your hair!' Gabbie was more interested in finishing the rest of her fry then in paying attention to Mom with the camera and playing. We eventually had to take it away from her because she didn't care about anything else.

Beautiful little girl sitting in the beehive.

If you get the chance, go visit Discovery Park...It is very cool. When I was teaching, we took the kids there for lunch and playing during one of our field trips. They loved it. They even have a little kids section where they have the tire tunnel, beehives, and other way fun stuff.

First tastes

Lately whenever we go to feed Gabbie, she won't eat plain baby food. She has to have whatever we are eating or we have to fix up something that she has to gum down to eat it. One night a couple weeks ago we had muffins and she wanted to try them so we broke one apart and let her have at it. Most of it ended up stuck to her clothes or thrown on the floor but what she was able to eat she really enjoyed...

We have a very big problem in our house. Gabbie loves to get close enough to our faces so she can try to pull off our glasses. We have a rule that we are not allowed to play with glasses or another of her favorites, mom's hair. Children's Place was having a huge sale so we got her some glasses of her own for $1. She doesn't like to wear them but man does she enjoy chewing on them.

Dad's Hat

Gabbie found her dad's hat the other day and was fascinated by it. She kept staring at it while Kyle was wearing it so we took it off and put it on her. The best part was that she couldn't figure out how to get the hat off her head. Here are some of our favorite pictures of her playing with the hat and trying to figure out what was going on...

Hogle Zoo

On Tuesday, Kyle had the entire day off so we took a trip up to the Hogle Zoo in Salt Lake. It was the first time we had been to a zoo in a really long time and of course it was Gabbie's first time. We had a lot of fun and found out that our daughter loves monkeys and tigers.

Watching the elephants...

looking at the pretty monkeys...

Gabs was so excited in this exhibit because there was one monkey that kept coming right up to the window and she just stared at him the entire time he was moving. Her eyes were following him every time he moved...

Gabbie's new favorite way to drink water...she hates to drink it out of a bottle so her daddy came up with this to make sure she was drinking.

Kyle mimicking the elephant...

A rhino's horn...

touching an elephant tusk...

cool tricks from the elephant, this one is pregnant...

Daddy and Gabbie hanging out during the elephant show...

Gabbie's face soaking wet because her daddy took the water and squirted it all over her face...she liked it though because it was really hot...

This was probably her favorite place...every time the tiger went out of her range of view, she laid down in her stroller and then as soon as she could see him again, she got back up and watched him. This time he stopped right in front of her and stared her down.

Gabbie with daddy posing in front of the elephant statue...

Do you measure up?

cute little kittie...

playing with the spiders...

the baby giraffe that is only 6 or so days older than Gabbie...she was in love.

The zoo is such a fun place to be. I can't wait till we move to Texas and have tons of zoos and aquariums for us to go to.
