Aunt Taylor

There are two things that Gabs has become super attached to since we moved here. First, is her blanket that Grandma Christensen made for her when she turned 1 and the second is her Aunt Taylor. These two are so fun to watch together. Gabbie adores her Aunt and can't believe how lucky she is that she gets to share a room with her (and wake her up between 5-7 by singing to her bears...poor Taylor no longer knows what it is like to sleep in).

One morning Gabbie was playing with her blanket when Taylor woke up for the morning. When she came to sit down in the hall, Gabs had to run over and sit beside her. Then they decided to play with the blanket (Gabs loves to put it over her head, with her legs and feet sticking out, and hide). Here are the pictures I managed to get before they realized I was doing it...

Her attention only lasts for about 2 seconds and then she is ready to move on to the next thing. After looking at herself in the pictures she was ready to go back and play.

Sometimes she is such a little cheeser, totally hamming it up for the camera. The next time you are around her, bring out a camera and tell her to 'say cheese' for you. It's too cute!

Meet the Christensen Family!

Kyle and Christy met in August of 2005, officially started dating on the 5th of July 2006, and got engaged to be married on November 16, 2006.

They were married in the Mt. Timpanogos Temple in American Fork, Utah on the 17th of February, 2007. In June of 2009 we moved to Houston, Texas.

Gabriella was born on December 4. She weighed 8 pounds 1 ounce when she was born and was 20.5 inches long at that time. Since then, she has grown a whole lot and consistently measures in the 100th percentile among children of her age in categories of both weight and height. She loves anything to do with Mickey Mouse. She also loves reading anything she can get her hands on and pretending to be a princess.

Noah was born on July 10. He weighed 8 pounds .08 ounces when he was born and was also 20.5 inches tall. He has a very patient personality and really loves his big sister despite her struggles with no longer being the only child. He also is the teaser of the family.

Lizzie was born on December 17. She weighed in at 5 pounds 12 ounces and was 18 inches long. When she was first born we thought she was going to be our quiet child. Boy were we wrong. She is demanding and will scream at you to let you know she needs some attention. At this point, she is a complete Momma's girl.

In August 2007, Christy started her 2nd year as a 2nd Grade Teacher. She Graduated on April 27, 2007 from BYU with a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education. At the end of the 2007-2008 school year Christy retired from teaching and became a stay at home mom.

In April of 2009 Kyle graduated as a Bachelor of Arts in English Education with a Psychology minor. While in his studies at BYU he has had an emphasis in Critical Rhetorical Theory specifically dealing with issues of Class, Gender, and Race in the Literary, Political and Pedagogical realms. Kyle no longer teaches. He has moved on to the Human Resources field. The company he works for now has great benefits and advancement opportunities. We can't wait to see what the future will bring with this new position.

Taylor has graduated high school and no longer lives with us. She will forever have a place in our home though and will always be a part of our family. Good luck to her as she heads off to BYU-I to study Recreational Therapy.
