Our New Addictions

So, Christy and I haven't taken any pictures lately, but I wanted to tell you all about Christy's newest addiction. It is called Twilight. Last Saturday we went to the Scholastic Book Fair Sale in Salt Lake and while we were there she bought Twilight. She made a promise to herself that she wouldn't read it until she had finished her work sample.

That night we went to play some games with Christy's second -grade-teacher coworkers and their husbands and the topic of her book came up. She recommitted to herself that she would not read the book until her work sample was done.

Then, on sunday, I dropped Christy off at Mom and Dad's house in Salem to do laundry while I came back to Provo to home teach. When I got back, Christy's nose was stuck in the book. By the time we left, a couple of hours later, Christy had read 350 pages.

When I came over to Christy's house on Monday after work, I walked in and this is about what her face looked like as she was sitting up from laying on the couch. As I walked over and came a little closer a smile popped across her face and out popped the book.

For about the next hour and a half I didn't hear much from Christy. When she finished the book, we got in the car and drove to Barnes and Noble to get her the next book "Blue Moon"

While we were at Barnes and Noble, I got a little distracted. All I wanted to do was look at books. Christy eventually had to go to the counter and look like she was going to leave to peel me away from all the books. I don't know what it was when I was younger and thought that I didn't like to read. I realized through this Barnes and Noble experience that I really love to read. I love to become educated.

I guess the moral of the Story, is that Christy and I both have new addictions, and they are addictions to books.

In other news

On Tuesday Christy's Class performed a fun Christmas performance for their parents. It was really cute. That same night, while Christy was performing with her kids, I coached both of our basketball teams had their first practice. Both teams look like they will be pretty good. Hopefully we can get a hold of a camera for next week so that we can show you all some pictures.

So, can I borrow the book for our trip? Also, I have a camera you can have...that I bought right before I left for Latvia the 2nd time. It has a download program too.

I'm so bummed that I can't find that book at our local library! What's the deal?! Is it a mormon author or something?
